AMF Music | October '25

Who would win the '25 World Series of Music?

For once I don’t have a dad joke in the intro for you, because I’m just so relieved to have finished both the playlist and website updates in time to go trick-or-treating (currently dressed as Andre Blackassi, don’t hold me). The focus of this newsletter will be the new website - same old URL, in case you have it saved 😅 - but I hope the outcome has residual effects on the community in the coming months. For a long time, AMF has been the work and voice of numerous collaborators, shared through scattered output and a sparse IG page. The website did its job, but it didn’t feel like it carried the spirit of what AMF wanted to be and what it was becoming. The recent custom update feels right, and only “incomplete” in the sense that it hasn’t been fully reviewed by a jury of my peers. Well…you’re here, I’m here, and the link is down below…

Check it out while you listen to w33kly this w33kend - or listen to the tracks streaming on the site. There’s plenty to browse already, especially for anyone not familiar with the brand who’s just here for the music…which is completely fine, btw 😉

🖥️ Website Update 🖥️

Last month, I promised an update to the website, and here it is. In lieu of other music selections this month,* I’m reintroducing the site and asking you to take a look. I’m happy with where it’s at, but that means very little compared to all your experiences with it. It’s meant as a community hub for music, information, and resources and the foundations are set here in this update.

Here’s the link: allmyfriendsent.com

The goal for the site is the same as AMF’s mission: to be a creative hub for our greater community of artists and their audiences. It should feel familiar, like some of the platforms you may have grown up on, but unique because it’s from scratch. The hope is that eventually the site is a place you check up on because you know it’ll have something new that you may like.

Current Features:

  • Music Player: loaded with unreleased instrumentals. The music streamer will become a beat store allowing purchases directly from the site, and playlists will be updated with the w33kly archive and community playlists.

  • Calendar: a calendar of holidays and general interest events, featuring popular culture as well as AMF highlights. Next update will include an Album Release module and major international sports championships.

  • Scrapbook: a combination brand guide and inspiration scrapbook. Currently features highlights from around the AMF community and popular creative, like album covers, ad campaigns, and photography.

  • Roadmap: essentially a changelog, typically a feature of tech, software, and gaming sites to track updates. Future features and technical upgrades to the site will be listed here, along with community CTAs.

Planned Features:

  • Reader: curated articles and essays on topics of interest across culture. Sound design and audiovisual artistry, sports history and philosophy, design and tech conversations. Things people enjoy.

  • Studio: curated videos from across the internet and around AMF. Will ultimately include a mix stream pairing DJ sets with video compilations.

  • Album Release Tracker: the Calendar module for everyone who’s strictly here for the music, it will aim to capture as many anticipated mainstream releases as possible, as well as those in the AMF orbit.

If you visit the site now, you’ll get a curation of instrumentals in rotation while you browse the inspiration scrapbook, or just let the visualizer keep you company. More viz modes will be added and the catalog will continue to expand beyond the “hard drive” collection. Both the Calendar and Scrapbook are being built out for robust coverage while avoiding clutter, so check back often for updates. Your ongoing feedback will help steer the exact balance of genres, sports, and general pop culture topics - with filters for personalization - and additional curators have been onboarded this year to broaden the scope.

This current foundation of the site reflects AMF’s existing “identity” - with many friends of AMF already featured - but that’s only part of it. Now comes the important part: critical input! Compliments are nice for me, but critiques are better for everyone. Our musicians will keep making music in-house, but you can help inspire new sounds that branch out to suit your tastes; we’ll keep curating music and inspiration, but you can share the next discovery or nostalgic callback that inspires a future brand aesthetic. I’ve admittedly worked hard with some collaborators at setting a solid groundwork, but in my opinion, this is where the fun starts. I’m really excited to hear how folks feel about the updated platform, and I’m looking forward to seeing the direction the community pushes the brand.

*I had no time, I was deep in this, man.
**Aside from a few occasional mobile hiccups, the experience is actually pretty smooth so far in testing. If you happen to have any loading issues, just give the page a reload and you should be good - the wiring is still very fresh.

Okay have a safe Halloween, to all who celebrate, and enjoy the end of a spooky ass year. Thanks as always for taking the time to read and listen - if you have any feedback or experiences worth reporting on the site, I’d love to hear from you! 🙏🏾🎧
